Hyperbaric Physicians of Georgia is the largest privately owned hyperbaric physicians group in the Southeast. Our staff has combined over 100 years of experience in the medical, physical and mechanical effects of hyperbaric oxygen and wound care management. Our physicians have extensive training in wound care and hyperbaric medicine, many with dual certifications. In addition to lecturing to medical schools and residency programs, our physicians stay actively involved on a national level to increase the acceptance of hyperbaric medicine. Dr. Beless is the Medical Director at HyperbaRXs at Saint Joseph's (d.b.a. Hyperbaric Medicine of North Atlanta at St. Joseph's Hospital). He served as Director of Crawford Long Emergency Department for over 13 years and was on the faculty of Emory University Department of Emergency Medicine. He has been practicing hyperbaric medicine full time since 1998 with Hyperbaric Physicians of Georgia. He was formerly the Director of the Crawford Long Hospital Hyperbaric Medicine Unit. Dr. Beless is active in lecturing for the Emory University Medical School and residency programs on hyperbaric medicine and advanced wound care therapy.

Dr. Gelly has been involved in hyperbaric medicine and wound care since 1991. Past positions have included Medical Directorships at academic and community hyperbaric medicine and wound care programs. She started a non-hospital affiliated hyperbaric medicine center which was one of the first UHMS accreditated centers. She has been actively involved in billing and reimbursement issues for both facilities and physicians. Until recently, she was the Medical Director of Hyperbaric Physicians of Georgia, a group of physicians dedicated to the practice of hyperbaric medicine and wound healing, with 5 subspecialty boarded physicians in its membership. In addition to lecturing nationally on hyperbaric medicine and wound healing for many years, she was the president of the Gulf Coast Chapter of the UHMS from 2005-2007. Currently, she serves as the Emeritus Medical Director of Hyperbaric Physicians of Georgia, and as C.E.O. for HyperbaRXs.

Dr. Schwegman graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1998, completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at The Ohio State University in 2001 and served as the Chief Resident of Emergency Medicine from 2000-2001. He joined the faculty at Emory University and served as Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine from 2001-2008. During that time he had numerous awards including "Emergency Medicine Teacher of the Year" in 2002, 2003, and 2005. In 2008, Dr.Schwegman practiced Emergency Medicine at Northside Hospital in Atlanta and was a Physician consultant to Welch Allyn. Dr. Schwegman joined Hyperbaric Physicians of Georgia in 2009 and became the Chief Medical Director of Hyperbaric Physicians of Georgia and the Chief Medical Officer of HyperbaRXs in 2010. He served as the founding co-chairman of the Save a Leg, Save a Life foundation Atlanta chapter from 2010-2013 and was featured in the July 2011 Atlanta Magazine as a "2011 Atlanta Top Doctor".

Dr. Stephens is a hyperbaric physician, working primarily at our HyperbaRXs at Lithonia facility (d.b.a. Dekalb Hyperbaric Medicine & Wound Care Center). In addition to being certified in Primary Training Hyperbaric Medicine, he has also been certified in Advanced Burn Life Support and Advanced Wilderness Life Support. Dr. Stephens was appointed Chief of Surgical Services (1986-1988), Chief of General Surgery (1988-2001) and Chief of Staff (1994) at Crawford Long Hospital of Emory University; Chief of Surgery (1998-2001) Advanced Surgery Center of Georgia; Clinical Instructor (1979-2001) Emory University School of Medicine; and, Associate Professor of Surgery (1978-1970) at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Stephens was the personal physician to Evander Holyfield, World Heavyweight Boxing Champion, 1970-1994.

Dr. Wilder is the Medical Director of HyperbaRXs at Kennestone (d.b.a. Cobb Hyperbaric Medicine). Prior to joining Hyperbaric Physicians of Georgia in 2010, Dr. Wilder worked at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and Wellstar Kennestone Hospital's Pediatric ER, serving as Medical Director at both health systems. An avid proponent of Hyperbaric Medicine, she has trained with some of the nation's top experts in the field. Her fellowship research presentation to the UHMS was instrumental in the preservation and continuation of HBO fellowships throughout the country. Dr. Wilder's comprehensive approach to patient care has helped provide successful outcomes for our patients.
