David Schwegman, MD, FACEP, CWS
Dr. David Schwegman brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role as a leading hyperbaric physician.
After graduating from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1998, he completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Ohio State University, where he also served as Chief Resident. Dr. Schwegman then became an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Emory University, where he received multiple accolades, including “Emergency Medicine Teacher of the Year” three times.
With years of hands-on experience in high-stakes emergency care, Dr. Schwegman transitioned into hyperbaric medicine in 2009, joining Hyperbaric Physicians of Georgia, where he became Chief Medical Director. He later became the Chief Medical Officer of HyperbaRXs and has been a strong advocate for improving patient care through innovative treatments. Dr. Schwegman’s leadership extended beyond his clinical work; he served as the founding co-chairman of the Save a Leg, Save a Life Foundation’s Atlanta chapter. His contributions to the field earned him the recognition of "2011 Atlanta Top Doctor" by Atlanta Magazine.
