Dr. Schwegman graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1998, completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at The Ohio State University in 2001 and served as the Chief Resident of Emergency Medicine from 2000-2001. He joined the faculty at Emory University and served as Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine from 2001-2008. During that time he had numerous awards including "Emergency Medicine Teacher of the Year" in 2002, 2003, and 2005. In 2008, Dr. Schwegman practiced Emergency Medicine at Northside Hospital in Atlanta and was a Physician consultant to Welch Allyn. Dr. Schwegman joined Hyperbaric Physicians of Georgia in 2009 and became the Chief Medical Director of Hyperbaric Physicians of Georgia and the Chief Medical Officer of HyperbaRXs in 2010. He served as the founding co-chairman of the Save a Leg, Save a Life foundation Atlanta chapter from 2010-2013 and was featured in the July 2011 Atlanta Magazine as a "2011 Atlanta Top Doctor".
